Welcome back

One verse. One guide. One step today.

Each day Alongside gives you a Bible verse to sit with, a place to write your prayers, and a guide from Scripture chosen for what you are facing right now.

Every day, not just today

God walks alongside you every day, whether you feel it or not.

The guides in this app point you back to Him. He is the one who is actually with you: in the car, at work, at the sink, at 3am. You do not have to summon Him. He is already here.

He holds your right hand and says: do not fear, I will help you.

Isaiah 41:13 (NIV)

Try this once today: say one sentence out loud to God as you walk from one room to the next. That is enough.

Today's scripture

Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

1 Peter 5:7 (NIV)

Name one specific worry and hand it to God in prayer. The reason given here is simple: He cares about you.

How people stay with God on an ordinary day

A different short practice each day. Small, concrete habits you can try before breakfast or on the way home.

Practice of the day

One word when there are no words

There was a stretch when I could not pray in sentences. Grief took the language out of me. So I prayed one word at a time, 'help', 'stay', 'please', and left it at that. Nothing dramatic happened. But I kept showing up, and after a few weeks the sentences came back on their own.

TRY TODAY

If prayer feels impossible today, pray one honest word and stop there. That counts.

The Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.

Romans 8:26 (NIV)

Practices are written to be tried as they are, not quotes from named people. Write what happens.
