A practice to try
One word when there are no words
“There was a stretch when I could not pray in sentences. Grief took the language out of me. So I prayed one word at a time, 'help', 'stay', 'please', and left it at that. Nothing dramatic happened. But I kept showing up, and after a few weeks the sentences came back on their own.”
